Various shifts available

  • Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
  • Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
  • Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, to discuss work to be performed and identify future repair requirements.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
  • Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers’ performance specifications.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.

Repairing and Maintaining Vehicles & Equipment — Service, repair adjust and test vehicles, to ensure safety and optimum performance.

Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge — Keeping up-to-date technically and applying knowledge to your job.

Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Interacting With Computers — Using computers and computer systems to enter data, or process information.

Repairing and Maintaining Equipment— Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, and testing.

Education apprenticeship scheme with on-the-job experience, or recognised training programme within a commercial dealership.

Rygor has a dedicated haulage contract and is looking for a fully qualified Class One (C+E) and CPC to fulfil contractual obligations. This role is driving a draw-bar vehicle on UK deliveries only and will include nights out. (approx. 3 per week).
This is a permanent role, working hours are in line with driving hours legislation.

Essential skills, experience and competencies needed for the role:

  • Class One (C+E)
  • Driver CPC
  • Communications skills – speak, read and understand English to a satisfactory level

  • Previous experience in haulage positions is desired

We have a position of loader/shunter come up at our operation in Ford, nr Arundel, West Sussex.

Job description

Shunting and loading vehicles both our own, and 3rd party. Working with customers warehouse staff, to customers instructions.

Overseeing parking on site.

Checking trailers before loading, for cleanliness and mechanical defects.

Assisting site supervisor with delivery paperwork ect.

Covering site supervisor when on holiday.

 

Requirements

Needs HGV C+E (Class 1) licence

Physically fit,

Some Knowledge of IT

Experience in transport planning would be preferable but not essential.

Fluent English, written, spoken.

Having started life in 1960 as a family business in Westbury, Rygor became a service agent for Mercedes-Benz in 1986.

About You

You will have previous experience managing people at his level and will have excellent communication skills.  You will be able to maintain calm under pressure.  It is essential that you have a full understanding of all of the Mercedes-Benz products and have a solid technical background.

  • Experienced in heavy goods mechanics
  • Show man management skills and team leadership
  • Administration experience – job cards in particular
  • Hold self-organisational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Receive job cards from service reception, pre-time each job and allocate work to technicians so as to maximise sold hours and monitor progress of job
  • Obtain authorisation for any additional work required either through service reception or by direct contact with customer
  • Ensure that all areas of compliance are met – Truckfile, MOT Pass Rate, VHC, and Quality Control
  • Ensure that all warranty items are identified for each job and that parts replaced are labelled, appropriate documentation completed and passed for action
  • Receive job cards for completed jobs ensuring that work has been completed correctly; time completed jobs so that job costing can be completed and ensuring all warranty items are highlighted and all associated documentation is completed.
  • Arrange for customer to be informed that vehicle has been completed
  • Ensure that the image and levels of customer service within the department is in line with Company standards
  • Schedule all PDI and used vehicle preparation to ensure that sales department requirements are met
  • Ensure that all special tools and equipment are kept in good order and that repair requirements are notified to the service manager once discovered
  • Ensure that the workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensure that all customer complaints are dealt with both speedily and effectively, and that any unresolved problems are referred to the job holder’s immediate supervisor
  • To be responsible for the supervision of subordinate staff ensuring that their designated duties are performed correctly, highlighting any problem or shortfall areas to their immediate supervisor
  • Ensure that within their area of operation all Company and Trade Associations policies, procedures and minimum standards are met and that all statutory requirements including trading standards, vehicle and consumer legislation, fire, health and safety etc. are adhered to
  • Handle all internal and external customers and suppliers with courtesy and ensure the Mercedes-Benz experience is delivered to all contacts at all times
