We are recruiting for qualified HGV Technicians to join our main dealerships across the country.

You will be carrying out servicing and repairs to Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, to a high standard of quality and productivity. You will be working within a team of like-minded individuals and preparing quality paperwork

You will have a minimum qualification of City and Guilds level 3 certificate in commercial vehicles or equivalent. Mercedes-Benz training and experience, and a Class 1 licence, would be an advantage but we would consider your application if you have worked in a similar main dealer HGV environment. You will have a “fix first time” attitude together with excellent communication skills.

Essential skills and experience needed for the role:

  • Level 3 qualification; level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician
  • Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
  • Be able to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • HGV licence is an advantage

This role requires someone with previous experience within similar role in the Motor Trade along with proven success in a fast moving, high volume environment.

You will be independently managing and developing a customer-oriented and profitable department. This includes delivering a high level of customer satisfaction and high yields for the department, as well as planning, controlling and monitoring processes for the department and customer services area. You’ll also be responsible for and ensuring all company standards are met and legal regulations are complied with.

Essential skills, experience and competencies needed for the role:

  • Previous commercial main dealer experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the operational running of a workshop and business administration
  • Commercial motor industry experience
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of customer satisfaction
  • Be a proactive team player
  • People management – particularly in terms of achievement through teams
  • Enthusiasm to and continuously improve product knowledge of self and others
  • Desire to achieve the highest standard of personalised customer care
  • IT literate; Excel is essential

We are recruiting for a successful Workshop Manager to join our large and busy workshop in Swindon.

You will need to have previous experience on the tools as a qualified mechanic and proven leadership skills. As the Workshop Manager, is essential that you have a full understanding of all the Mercedes-Benz products and have a solid technical background.

This position would suite a Technician looking to progress their career into a senior role and come off the tools.

  • Previous experience within a busy commercial workshop
  • Mechanical knowledge and background
  • Show team leadership skills
  • Good customer relation skills to adapt to customers individual requirements
  • Ability to handle pressure without it affecting working relationships and effectiveness
  • Good basic administration knowledge

Your day to day job will be to manage, assist and motivate technicians in order to run a successful and smooth-running workshop.

Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to;

  • To supervise flow of work for their team and allocating work as required
  • To ensure that technicians are working at acceptable levels during shifts
  • To ensure that work is issued and completed to the agreed deadlines
  • Ensure that all customer complaints are dealt with both speedily and effectively
  • Responsible for providing technical support to team members as and when required
  • To ensure that a quality control procedure is carried out as per MBUK guidelines
  • Carry out regular performance assessments of team member

For this role you will need to hold a Class 1 licence and have experience in haulage. Within this role you will gain training on how to operate tipping tankers. This role is is UK deliveries only and will include nights out (approx. 3 per week).

Role: VMU Manager

Hours: 45 a week Monday – Friday

With more than 10 VMU sites, Rygor provides dedicated service, maintenance and repair for large fleet customers and we have recently expanded this division, by taking over the running of four workshops for a large blue-chip customer. Rygor are recruiting for a strong and dedicated VMU Manager to join our maintenance site in Thurrock. Your key skills should include team management and leadership to ensure you push, drive and support all your employees.

As the VMU Manager, your main day to day role will include, independently managing and developing a customer-oriented and profitable department.

  • Delivering a high level of customer satisfaction and high yields for the department
  • Planning, controlling and monitoring processes for the department
  • Monitoring and managing the customer services area
  • Ensuring all company standards are met and legal regulations are complied with

Essential skills, experience and competencies needed for the role:

  • Dealership / Commercial knowledge and experience
  • Be familiar in running a busy fleet workshop
  • Able to manage KPI’s and be proven to achieve targets
  • Manage and motivate a successful workforce
  • Running of an ATF lane / MOT conformity
  • Managing maintenance intervals/schedules
  • Monitoring FPM spend against SLA’s
  • Accurate and timely management of processing jobs
  • Liaising with external contractors
  • IT literate (Kerridge an advantage)
  • Electronic service/compliance
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Processing and promoting warranty work
  • An established knowledge of the operational running of a workshop and business administration
  • Flexible approach to work and adaptable to thrive in a changing environment
  • People management – particularly in terms of achievement through teams
