Rygor Launches September Safety Month

This September, Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle Dealer group, Rygor Commercials is holding its safety awareness month, to highlight the importance of looking out for each other on the roads.

Throughout the month, Rygor is sharing road and vehicle safety information on its social media channels to help continue to put the spotlight on this important subject.

Central to the safety month initiative, Rygor’s dedicated in-house Truck Training Manager Chris Moore will be offering demonstrations of the latest truck safety technology and visiting local schools to deliver an engaging presentation to pupils about the importance of being safe and seen when out and about. Pupils will also receive reflective wrist bands to help them be more visible when walking to and from school.

Chris Moore said: “It’s important that road safety and awareness starts at an early age, which is why we are dedicated to working within the local community to help educate young people on road safety.”

Rygor is also sharing the road safety presentation with its team across its 20 plus sites, so they can run through the content with their own families, helping to further spread the positive safety message.

Rygor’s commitment to health and safety doesn’t stop there though. The Dealer has also been supporting its customers’ own H&S programmes, including the UK’s leading Food Service Provider, Brakes.

Paul Duncalf, Head of Risk & Compliance at Brakes, said: “Mercedes-Benz is one of our preferred vehicle suppliers, because of the manufacturer’s commitment to being at the forefront of the industry, especially when it comes to technological and safety advancements.”

Brakes’ commitment to safety doesn’t stop at its prestigious vehicles though. The company has introduced an enhanced health and safety awareness programme across its business, enabling them to continually highlight the importance of safety to staff.

“Our team members are central to our business and their health and safety is paramount.” Paul Duncalf added. “We wanted to take our H&S awareness programme even further this year, which is why we have introduced employee quizzes and surveys which all focus on health and safety. Rygor has kindly supported this programme by providing staff prizes, in the form of Mercedes-Benz World driving experiences.”

Charlie Cribbes, Rygor Health and Safety Manager, said: “At Rygor, no matter what month it is, we take health and safety seriously, but it is great that we have this campaign to help raise even more awareness. Health and safety needs to be at the heart of every organisation, which is why it is fantastic to bring together our team, our customers and our local community for Rygor’s September Safety Month.”
