Working with Stanwell Foodbank, dedicated volunteers at Stanwell Events Community Project hand-prepare and deliver 15,00 meals every month, to people at need in the Stanwell and Spelthorne area. As you can imagine, making a difference on this scale requires transport, and the team at Rygor Heathrow was keen to help by donating one of its vans for four days, to ensure deliveries were made.

Stanwell Events’ amazing community ethos is supported wholeheartedly by the team at Rygor Heathrow, and Van Sales Manager, John Lloyd, was keen to help the charity deliver over 500 parcels of food and gifts in the lead-up to the festive season. John said: “Stanwell is not just the home of Heathrow Van, but most of our team live locally too, so when we heard that Stanwell Events needed a van to deliver vital supplies, we wanted to get involved. To be able to give-back to our local community in this way is a great feeling, and we are honoured to give our support to this fantastic charity.”

Stanwell Events was founded in 2018 and is a shining beacon of hope to those living locally. In addition to collecting and distributing food and medical supplies, it organises activity sessions for adults and children, 6 days per week. All this takes time and effort, and the charity is reliant on fundraising and volunteers (and on occasion, help from businesses like Rygor). Stanwell Events CEO, Anna-Marie Goodacre, commented: “Having this van for the day helped us take vital supplies and a bit of festive joy out into our community, and this is what we aim to do 365 days per year. Nobody should go hungry, and these supplies will mean that someone in need has meals on the table this week. Stanwell Events is a community project that cares, and we rely on all the amazing people who work with us to make a positive difference in Stanwell and the surrounding areas.”
