Rygor Commercials is delighted to announce it will support three incredible charities throughout 2023, as part of its Charities of the Year programme, an initiative set up to enable Rygor team members to nominate and vote to support charities close to their hearts. Rygor’s chosen charities are Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Nottingham Hospitals Charity, and the MND Association.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which is based near to Rygor’s head office in Westbury, covers Wiltshire, Bath and surrounding areas, with emergency medical helicopter response. The charity’s senior fundraising manager, Des Regan, said: “Each year we need to raise £4million to keep the helicopter flying and continue saving lives. We receive no direct Government or National Lottery funding, so we rely on generous donations from the public and local businesses such as Rygor, to help support our lifesaving work.
“Rygor first began supporting Wiltshire Air Ambulance in 2015 and we’re very excited they’ve chosen to support us again in 2023. We very much look forward to seeing what the team have planned for their fundraising in the year ahead!”
Team Rygor will support Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s Big Appeal for the Children’s Hospital, close to Rygor Nuneaton, which aims to provide enhanced facilities, medical equipment, and a child-focused environment for young patients and their families. Joanne Burr, corporate fundraising manager for Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We are thrilled to be one of Rygor’s chosen charities of the year. Our local NHS hospitals need more support than ever, and we’re confident that partnering with Rygor will help us enhance care for our youngest patients being treated at Nottingham Children’s Hospital.”
The team at Rygor has also chosen the national charity, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which funds and promotes research into new treatments and a cure for this devastating disease. In addition to funding treatments and clinical trials, MND Association provides crucial emotional and practical care services, patient funding and home adaptations, to support people diagnosed with MND and those close to them, at a time they need it most.
Helen Mackie, regional fundraiser for the MND Association in the South-West of England, said: “We are so grateful and delighted that Rygor have chosen to support the MND Association and join our fight against motor neurone disease (MND) throughout 2023. I am truly excited to support all their wonderful and fun adventures to fundraise this year, as they generously raise much needed funds and awareness. Without this incredible help, the MND Association simply would not be able to provide its vital support services, fund research to find a cure and campaign and raise awareness of MND. Together I know we are going to make a real difference for people affected by this devastating disease.”
Last year, Rygor was pleased to donate almost £5,000 to charities local to its sites, as well as recycling IT equipment to a special community project close to its head office in Westbury, Wiltshire. Its team also participated in the #MaxusChristmasFoodAppeal, which saw Rygor team members donate two van loads of food and essential items to local foodbanks during December. In fact, the foodbank drive touched the hearts of Rygor’s team members to such an extent, that in addition to its Charities of the Year fundraising, the business will continue to support to foodbanks close to its 10 sites over the coming year, aiming to help these amazing community projects as the cost-of-living crisis continues.
Rygor managing director, John Keogh, and Rygor’s commercial director, Rish Channa, said: “Rygor’s Charities of the Year programme gives us the chance to ‘give back’ to the fantastic causes chosen by our team members and it is part of our core company value of being respectful by caring for those around us. We’re all looking forward to getting involved in a whole host of fun activities and events to raise as much as possible for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Nottingham Hospitals Charity, and the MND Association over the coming year, and to help support the amazing work each of these charities does. What makes it extra meaningful is that these charities have been nominated by our team members, so they really are causes which mean a lot to us all. We’re looking forward to pulling together to offer all the support we can.”
A strong sense of team spirit continues to be a key part of what it means to be a member of Team Rygor, and Rygor’s whole team looks forward to fundraising for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Nottingham Hospitals Charity, and the MND Association over the coming months.
