On Thursday 5 October, award-winning multi-franchised Dealer, Rygor Auto (part of Rygor Group Ltd.) officially welcomed its 2023 Mercedes-Benz apprentice cohort via its bespoke induction day.
This year, Rygor Auto onboarded 13 new apprentices into the business, as part of the Group’s commitment to training and nurturing new talent, through its strategic development pathway. Team Rygor’s newest apprentices join the 18 young learners already undertaking the Mercedes-Benz apprenticeship programme offered at Rygor Auto.
This year, Rygor Auto has welcomed apprentices who will be undertaking Retail Parts apprenticeships, Customer Service Expert apprenticeships, and HGV Technician and LCV Technician apprenticeships. They will be supported on their training journey by the experienced team at Rygor Auto and Rygor Group, many of whom started as apprentices themselves.
Rygor Auto provides a full programme of support throughout the learning journey, and the business has a unique development pathway, to complement the academy training Mercedes-Benz provides. Rygor’s apprentices enjoy regular contact with others learning in the programme through events such as an end of year visit to MB World, a special life skills course, awards and recognitions, and regular check-ins with their own dedicated mentors.
Rygor’s culture and communications executive, Talitha Scott, who hosted the induction day said: “Our team members really are the beating heart of our business, and we are thrilled to be joined by this new cohort of apprentices. Since joining the business, our newest apprentices have been getting to know their team members at site level, utilising Rygor’s bespoke Learning Hub to ensure they are fully prepared to work at Rygor’s busy and energetic sites, and enjoying an introduction to their role and the business.
Talitha added: “This year, we’re particularly pleased to welcome more female apprentices than ever before, particularly in technician roles. This is a big deal, as we want to help more women succeed in our industry. Earlier this year, our business commenced its 5-year DEI&B strategy to look at ways we can do more to make Rygor Group a place where team members feel free to be themselves. We want to see more women join the commercial vehicle industry, so it’s great to see change happening in this regard, and it’s something we’ll continue to focus on.”
Rygor Auto aftersales director, Sean Joyce, who presented at the induction, said: “As a Group, we are committed to developing future talent as well as supporting our long-serving team members through our own Rygor Training Hub. We have the most amazing team, who work together to keep our customers on the road through first-class, quality customer service and repair and maintenance. By keeping our core values of Rewarding, Reliable and Respectful at the very heart of our apprentice’s Rygor journey, we ensure we do the very best for them, our business, and our customers.”
In September, Rygor Group achieved Great Place to Work certification for the second year running. The business is also on the UK Best Workplace list 2023, and UK Best Workplace for Wellbeing 2023 (large companies).
In March next year, Rygor will open applications for its 2024/25 apprentice intake. Enquiries can be emailed to careers@rygor.co.uk
