Rygor announces fundraising total for 2015-16 Charities of the Year
Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer group, Rygor, is delighted to announce it’s 2015-16 fundraising total of £7562.60 for it's charities of the year: Camren’s Steps, Hope for Tomorrow and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
In 2015 Rygor announced its new Charities of the Year initiative, to actively support and fundraise for a group of three causes which were nominated and voted for by the company’s team members. With more than 20 branches across the UK, Rygor’s chosen charities for 2015-16 reflected the company’s geographical coverage. Wiltshire Air Ambulance, is local to Rygor’s headquarters in Westbury, Hope for Tomorrow, is a national cancer charity and Camren’s Steps was set up by one of Rygor’s Oxford team members to raise money for a life-changing operation for their son with Cerebral Palsy.
A year on and the Rygor team is delighted to be able to handover cheques to the three charities.
Kenresa Stratford, fundraising coordinator at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “Rygor has done a brilliant job of fundraising over the past year and their passion towards fundraising has been inspirational. We cannot thank them enough for their support. Their incredible donation of £2,520 will help us to continue to keep flying and saving lives.”
Sophie Haines, mother of Camren and head fundraiser at Camren’s Steps, said: “Thank you so much to Rygor for supporting Camren's Steps and raising this money towards the cost of Camren's operation and rehabilitation therapy. It has meant so much to us to have your support, we are now a considerable amount further forward towards our total. Thank you again."
Catherine Wade, regional fundraiser for south Wiltshire, at Hope for Tomorrow, said: “We are proud to be associated with Rygor, through our Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) project which brings cancer treatment closer to home.
“Rygor’s customer service to our partner NHS Trusts, helps to ensure a reliable and trustworthy means of delivering mobile chemotherapy.
“We are grateful to have been one of Rygor’s Charities of the Year last year. Their support is greatly appreciated as we work to keep the wheels turning on our MCUs, allowing cancer patients to spend more time with their families and less time travelling,” Catherine added.
Tim Stacey, managing director at Rygor, said: “It has been fantastic to see how our employees have got behind this new initiative over the past year to raise funds for these three fantastic causes. This was a real team effort. Whether it was a cycle challenge, football tournament, word of the week jar, or cake sale, team members across the business came together and got involved to achieve great things for our charities.”
