Lean lift

Rygor Gloucester is a forward-thinking branch, built with the main objective to offer commercial vehicle customers in the local area an experience which set standards. It only seemed right then, that when we came to fit out our new, flagship dealership, that we utilised the latest technologies.

During the build, installed in our parts department were three lean lifts; optimum storage units designed to organise and store equipment and parts in the most time and space efficient way.

Within each lift there are between 30 and 40 shelves, stacked vertically – the equivalent of having approximately 10 bays of racking – demonstrating the lean lifts’ space saving benefits. Not only have the lifts made the best use of space in our parts department, but the amount of floor area saved has allowed for the creation of two additional ramp bays in our workshop, so we can maintain more vehicles at any given time, maximising customer vehicle uptime.

The lifts are all computerised and each Mercedes-Benz GenuinePart we have in stock is recorded so it can easily be searched for, making parts selection as efficient as possible. At the end of each day, the lifts perform an optimisation process, which reorders the parts, so ones which are most used are stored on the lower shelves, to save time when picking them.

What’s more, due to space utilisation, we now have an even greater number of parts in stock and immediately available, allowing our team to continually better serve our customers and help keep your business moving forward.
