The team at award-winning, multi-franchise automotive company, Rygor Group Ltd. is delighted to announce that it has been named as a UK Best Workplace for Development™ 2024 (large companies) by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.
Rygor Group’s inclusion on the prestigious UK Best Workplaces™ list 2023 and 2024, certification as a UK’s Best Workplace for Wellbeing™ 2023 (plus its certification as an official Great Place to Work® two years running) has been awarded because of overwhelmingly positive feedback from team members.
The TRUST INDEX© survey asked Rygor Group (which includes: Rygor Auto, Rygor Plant, Apex Body Solutions, Apex Van Solutions and newly-launched Rygor Land Systems) employees to respond to 60 core statements, which are asked consistently of all organisations taking part in the initiative.
To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place to Work® reviewed Rygor Group’s company culture, benefits, approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from employees in the TRUST INDEX© survey. Great Place to Work® then used these data insights to benchmark Rygor’s employee value proposition and people strategy against employee feedback. Only the businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status.
Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK, said: “Employee training and development isn’t just about teaching employees to do their jobs. It’s about showing employees they are valued and that there is a path of progression available. When employees don’t see opportunity, they don’t bring their best selves to work, and productivity and retention will be adversely impacted.
“Employee development is future-focused and evidences a commitment to employee’s long-term growth. It ensures your people feel valued, and feeds into the overall company culture and strategy. Each year, we recognise organisations whose thriving workplace cultures are enabling both their people and their business to flourish. Opportunities for learning and development are a crucial element of this success, which is why we’re so thrilled to be recognising this year, for the very first time, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development. Congratulations to Rygor Group Ltd. for being part of our 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List,” Benedict added.
Rygor Group’s inclusion on the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development™ list 2024, comes off the back of a significant period of enhancement for the award-winning automotive company.
Last year, the Group underwent a full rebrand, and launched three new businesses, enhancing the range of quality services it offers customers. In addition, Rygor Auto launched its first passenger car aftersales offering at its site in Gloucester, and in June 2024, officially opened its Mercedes-Benz passenger car aftersales site in Heathrow – further extending the range of expertise offered.
Rygor Group’s managing director, John Keogh, said: “I am so proud that Rygor Group Ltd. has been recognised yet again as a UK Best Workplace™ - this time for the ways we develop our team members. We know people come to work to feel fulfilled and we believe in providing opportunities to progress. Our team members are key in the next phase of our business’ growth and we’re always looking at what more we can do as a business to develop them. We’re always looking at ways we can further support our team to be the best they can be; whether that is through our bespoke in-house professional skills development programme, industry qualifications, our Rygor eLearnings, communications training, HR for managers skills hub, or even wellbeing seminars.”
Kate Ruberry-Shoemack, director of people and communications at Rygor Group Ltd., said: “Over the past 12 months we’ve invested heavily in our company culture, and the benefits and initiatives we offer our team. For example, our professional skills training programme is a custom-designed course which is delivered face to face and online, with the aim to provide future leaders with professional skills and self-awareness, so when new career opportunities within the business arise, they are ready to step up into them. Between 2022 and 2023 we saw a 20% improvement in responses from our team regarding the opportunities availble to them for training and development and our Great Place to Work® survey results for two consecutive years on this point have achieved a score of more than 70%, so it great to see things moving in a positive direction.
“For us, being a UK Best Workplace for Development™ isn’t a nice to have – it’s at the heart of our business and who we want to be and what we want to offer our team. We understand that to be the best in the industry, we must continue to do the best we can for the amazing team members already working for Rygor, and those who will join our team in the future.”
