Dorothy House Receives £2,000 Donation from Local Mercedes-Benz Dealer Group

Thursday 25th April 2019

Dorothy House Hospice Care was recently joined by representatives from Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer Group, Rygor Commercials and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited to receive a donation cheque for £2,000.

Rygor Commercials, who were announced as winners at the recent Mercedes-Benz Van Stars Awards in the Mercedes-Benz Finance Retailer of the Year category, received the contribution from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited as a reward for their win, to donate to a charity of their choice.

John Keogh, Rygor sales director, said: “The team was thrilled to win this award and it was a true testament to the hard work of our F&I department, led by business manager, Andrew Lee. This donation is the perfect way to honour the success of our entire team. Dorothy House, which is one of our Rygor 2019 Charities of the Year, is especially close to our hearts as one of our team was recently cared for by the Hospice during their illness.

“We are really thankful to Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited for enabling us to donate this fantastic amount of money to Dorothy House and are proud of our franchise partnership with Mercedes-Benz,” John added.

Rygor’s Charities of the Year initiative was set up back in 2015 to enable the company’s team members to nominate and vote to support charities which benefit some of the local communities which the company calls home. Over the past few years, Rygor has raised more than £35,000 for eight local charities and looks forward to adding to that total, this year.

Henrietta Beard, corporate fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care, said: “We were delighted to have been chosen by the Rygor team to once again be one of the company’s Charities of the Year. This donation will go a significant way towards supporting the patients in our care, both at our Hospice and out in the community across Somerset, BANES and Wiltshire.”

Jenny Farnborough, general manager sales and operations (South) from
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited, said: “We’re delighted to have donated £2,000 to Dorothy House, and to be recognising Rygor for their outstanding work too; giving something back to their Charity of the Year is a fantastic way to celebrate their successes.”
