Safety September 2019
September brings with it our annual safety awareness month, where we will be highlighting the importance of looking after ourselves and others on the roads.
Throughout the month, we will be sharing road and vehicle safety content across our social media channels to shine a light on this important subject. From celebrating the emergency services and everything they do for the community, to sharing daily vehicle health check videos, there’s lots of content and safety tips to follow.
Also central to the safety month initiative, our dedicated in-house Truck Training Manager, Chris Moore, will be visiting local schools to raise awareness of road safety for children. We understand how imperative it is that people practise road safety from a young age, and as a company we’re dedicated to providing as much advice and information on the topic as possible.
Chris Moore will be talking to pupils about the importance of being safe and seen when out, and all pupils will also receive reflective wrist bands to help them be more visible when walking to and from school. This will be particularly helpful with the colder months approaching and the darker evenings they bring with them. We will also be taking some vehicles for the pupils to explore!
Dedicating to ensuring the Rygor team understand the principles of road safety too, we will also be sharing the road safety presentation with all of our staff members. All 20 plus Rygor sites will have access to the information so they can run through the content with their own families, helping to further spread the positive road safety message.
We will also be supporting our customers health and safety messages as well as the Road Haulage Association with their #LoveTheLorry campaign to promote the haulage industry to the next generation.
