Rygor partners with sporting professional to promote the importance of fitness and wellbeing
Rygor is delighted to partner with former professional boxer, Jamie Moore through the long term loan of a Mercedes-Benz Vito van, to help raise awareness of the importance of health and fitness and to further support his work with both his professional and amateur team, plus his great work with the charities he supports.
Moore is a former European light middleweight champion, a two-time former British light middleweight champion and a former Commonwealth light middleweight champion. Dedicated to sport, health and wellbeing, since retiring, Moore has used his expertise and experience in his field to open amateur boxing clubs for young people in his local community and now is ever-present as one of the boxing analysts and commentators on Sky Sports.
“Sport brings people together. It teaches us to be respectful, strong and dedicated – true skills for life. This is why I am thrilled that Rygor has been kind enough to help, literally drive this project forward, through the loan of a Mercedes-Benz van,” Jamie, who has recently launched his autobiography Jamie Moore the Fighters Fighter, said.
“I had always had a vision to start an amateur boxing gym, to give local kids in the community the opportunity to learn a sport which is all about sportsmanship, passion and respect, so it was a great achievement when I was able to fulfil this.” He added.
Paul Reed, owner/director at Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer group, Rygor, said: “I met Jamie through boxing training. Aside from being a brilliant coach, I also found him to be an inspirational person, someone who gives his time to everyone and who really believes in health and wellbeing as a part of improving everyday performance in all walks of life.
“At Rygor, we have a strong business culture and mantra of Setting Standards, so it is clear in Jamie we have found a true partner, as he also adopts the same ethos in his field. He wants to give back to the local, North West community, which he calls home, and his gym and amateur boxing club has really allowed him to do this,” Paul added.
Jamie said: “The Vito van provided by Rygor is exceptional and something we just couldn’t do without. The crew configuration means we can fill it with all the essential equipment we need, but can also transport the team to events, something which would be much more difficult without the Vito. The van is amazing to drive, really smooth and actually feels just like you are driving a car, which is perfect for me as I can rack up quite a few miles going to events and personal training sessions! The partnership with Rygor is fantastic; we couldn’t do it without them.”
