Founders of the annual White Horse Challenge, Rygor Commercials of Westbury and Rocking Horse Nursery of Melksham, are delighted to announce the launch of the all new 2019 White Horse Walk in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

This year the White Horse Challenge is delighted to be working even closer with Wiltshire Air Ambulance and is putting on a brand new 13 mile fundraising walk. (In previous years, the White Horse Challenge has been a 52 mile event over two days – that’s almost two marathons!)

The 2019 White Horse Walk will be a one-day event, held on Saturday 21st September. The walk will give participants the opportunity to enjoy a stunning 13 mile walk through the Wiltshire countryside, all the while raising money for a cause which is essential to the wellbeing of the people of Wiltshire.

The half-marathon walking route starts at Blackland Lakes near Calne and takes a route encompassing both the Cherhill and Devizes White Horses.Graham Drake, owner director at Rygor Commercials, said: “Previously we have carried out a much longer challenge, with a walk which extends over an entire weekend. This year however, we wanted to do something a little different to encourage even more people to get involved. This 13 mile scenic route will provide a good level of difficulty but will still be a manageable challenge. We look forward to welcoming lots of walkers to the event, from families through to corporate teams.”

Clive Milner, from Rocking Horse Nursery, said: “Wiltshire Air Ambulance is such a special charity and the work it does across the entire county is so important. This is why both ourselves and Rygor are delighted to be able to support them once again with this exciting new event this year. This walk will be the lead up to an even bigger challenge next year, which we look forward to sharing more information about in 2020.”

Valerie Whistler, corporate partnership coordinator at Wiltshire Air Ambulance said: “We are so delighted to be working with Rygor Commercials and Rocking Horse Nursery again this year. We would like to say a huge thank you to them for working so hard to support Wiltshire Air Ambulance. This is such a wonderful walk, through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and it’s a fantastic way to have a great time while raising money for a local charity and by joining the walk, you can help to do this, while enjoying a cracking day out with friends and family.”
