Mercedes-Benz Commercial vehicle dealer group, Rygor, kicked off its 2019 charity fundraising with a team yoga class held at the company’s headquarters in Wiltshire.
The company, who is fundraising for Dorothy House Hospice Care, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Hope For Tomorrow this year, welcomed team members and representatives from the charities to its Westbury showroom for a sunrise yoga class, held by one of the company’s team members.
Tim Stacey, Rygor managing director, said: “This year at Rygor, we have launched a brand new wellness programme which puts the spotlight on the importance of our team’s health and wellbeing. Throughout the year we will not only be highlighting many of the excellent wellbeing benefits already in place for our team, such as perkbox, Cycle2Work, gym discounts and free counselling, but we will also be offering wellness talks and webinars, mental health first aid training and fitness classes (to name a few).
“Our charity yoga class was a great way to get the ball rolling for our 2019 charity fundraising and it was fantastic to see representatives from all three of our charities in attendance. These three charities are incredibly close to the hearts of our team members and I look forward to seeing us all come together over the next 12 months to continue to raise important funds for such worthwhile causes.”
Valerie Whistler, partnerships coordinator for Wiltshire Air Ambulance commented: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Rygor as one of their Charity of the Year partners again and would like to say a huge thank you to them for continuing to help us save lives. It was fantastic to take part in their first event of 2019 and we are really looking forward to being involved in all of their other exciting fundraising adventures in the year ahead.”
Jessie Easterby, fundraising manager at Hope For Tomorrow, said: “It was fantastic to be involved in Rygor’s charity yoga, particularly as I had never done it before! It was the perfect thing to start a Friday morning and really cleared my head before a full day in the office. We are so grateful to be one of the three charity partners of Rygor for 2019 and this was a fantastic initiative to kick start the year; it meant that I got to meet some of the Rygor team and the representatives from the other charities - we are really keen to work together. Who would have known that yoga would lead to such great discussions so early in the morning!”
Henrietta Beard, corporate fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care, said: “I would like to say how great it is to be chosen as a Charity of the Year by Rygor again and to work with the other two amazing charities (Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Hope For Tomorrow). What a creative way to launch the year with a charity yoga class. Looking forward to great things ahead this year!”
