Rygors truck star trio
Three Rygor Commercials truck sales specialists have won national recognition from Mercedes-Benz UK.
Leading the way was Swindon-based Key Account Manager Chris Carter, who was a runner-up in the competition to find the country’s Top Mercedes-Benz Truck Sales Master Member for 2007 – Sales Masters is a motivation and reward programme for Mercedes truck sales staff nationwide.
Chris also won a fantastic seven-night holiday in South Africa and Mauritius, as did Westbury-based colleague Roy Simpson.
Truck specialists employed by 22 franchised dealers competed for just 16 places on the trip and the fact that Rygor employees secured two of the precious berths underlines the great strength-in-depth of the company’s team.
Leading that team is Truck Sales Manager Bill Kingsmill, whose own performance last year earned him a place in the Truck Masters Diamond Club, and a short break in New York.
“We had a stunning 2007 and have made a flying start to this year too,” declares Bill. “Chris and Roy thoroughly deserve their success and we’re all very proud of them. Both put in a lot of hard work, which was reflected in their individual sales tallies.”
As a Key Account Manager Chris looks after some of the biggest fleet operators in the country. “It was certainly a very good year for me,” he confirms, “so much so that I was only just pipped at the post for the Top Truck Sales Master Member title.
“I landed several important deals but the orders that probably gave me the most satisfaction were those I picked up from Ealing Community Transport, which bought more than 50 Econic refuse vehicles from us.”
Roy Simpson is a retail sales executive and most of his orders came in ‘ones and twos’ from hauliers and other truck operators in the Salisbury-Swindon-Westbury area. “I’m particularly proud of my performance on our Mitsubishi Fuso Canter product,” he confirms.
Meanwhile, Rygor’s Wokingham-based van sales specialist Alan Weyman won an African safari holiday, as a reward from the manufacturer for his outstanding performance in 2007.
Recognition for his achievements came from the Mercedes-Benz Van Sales Academy, an incentive and motivation programme that brings together some 160 sales executives and 25 sales managers employed by franchised dealerships nationwide.
